Daly Street Comes Alive with Free Ride

We’re thrilled to announce that Free Ride is partnering with the Hutt City Council to activate the vacant Daly Street site, transforming it into a vibrant, community-led space powered by cycling. This exciting initiative will kick off with our Opening Party on Saturday, April 12 2025. ​As part of this activation, Free Ride will bring its cycling programs into the central city, offering bike fix-ups, skills training for tamariki, little kids and family bike events, mechanic training, and more. With a strong focus on community, sustainability, and accessibility, our presence at Daly Street will provide opportunities for people of all ages to engage with cycling in a fun and supportive environment.​ This initiative aligns with the Hutt City Council’s vision of creating a welcoming and dynamic urban space, shaped by local input and collaboration. Daly Street will also feature a modular pump track and repurposed elements from previous projects, ensuring a sustainable and community-driven transformation.
